Does anyone here wonder how the givers have become the victims?. Over the years ive listened to constant complaints over taxation. Weve come to accept that its just the way it is....we give when we are told as well as how much. I want every American to get a badge stating U.S. taxpayer.....WE audit everything...WE say what we want passed and when...why?...because WE are paying for it. I want the governer to say HOLY ****! here comes a taxpayer straighten everything up. How far can we take this post.

Citizens of the United States have one more chance at electing a man who can be YOUR voice. I may be a little behind but i just learned on C-Span that Ron will be running for the 2112 election. Im more excited than if id had the drumset of my dreams delivered to my door via UPS. My disappointment is the mindset or ignorance of the American voter. To me?...if Ron doesnt get elected we might as well get ready to accept the mark. How can we be so far gone that we cant see what his election can mean to our country?. Anyway... im thrilled!!. Thank You Evans and Krispy for giving me the opportunity to share my excitement. Many other (drum) forums would frown upon this in their goody two shoes outlook on anything political.

Started out a Zima drinker, couldnt stand the taste or smell of beer. My Zima hangovers were intense and im a light weight drinker in that 8 was a wild night and usually stopped at 4 to 6. I tried every pilsner imaginable trying to find one i liked and settled on Bud lite. OK.....forward 8 years and im bored with it. I start trying Fat tire, New Castle, Leinenkugel creamy dark, Amstel, Shock top, blue moon, Smithwicks, Killians, Heineken, even tried some Guiness and for the life of me i dont know why people dig this dark, bland, non carbonated boring dark beer. Maybe its a fashion thing that Guiness drinkers are cooler than your average pilsner pourer.

Now that ive introduced my taster to these different styles of beer its impossible to go back to a steady bud lite. Anyone here relate to this?. Its seems that im a bit less fond of darker brews that come from Ireland. I wasnt crazy about Sierra Nevada. Not crazy about Goose Island stuff. If i start out with say a Leinenkugel creamy dark and then a Killians i dont care for a New Castle but if i start out with a N. castle its fine. I recently tried a vanilla porter from Denver and liked it quite alot. Im still a light weight 4 to 6 brew guy on a saturday night but this experimentation is alot of fun. Whats your tale?.

I was just taking my fiance home and i cant say for sure but i think i saw a light flash as i was half way through the intersection. It was 8:15 and dark. I wasnt trying to run a yellow and my record is squeeky clean. Has anyone had any experience with this?. What are the odds (if) a photo was taken that any plate could have been seen?...i was nearly through the intersection.

Ya, ok, so i visit other forums now and then to start trouble...im kidding. One forum inparticular is so politically correct that i cant be myself without some sort of policing being done . My favorite was Evans (original) forum. Krispy is still cool and we have others dropping in now and then from the old days. What the F....for all its worth...i will always hold this forum dear to my heart above all others. I realize people have lives and things change but...oh well. You THINK WE are the stewrads of this planet? You think this planet "cares" whether or not we (humanity) is here or not? Let me give you MY "revelation":

The Earth is an organism. It's alive....and covered with "mold" (again, humanity). We are like a virus inside the body of the Earth. When the infection gets bad enough, the Earth sends out "antibodies" to rid the infection. We see an increase in Earth's temperature -just the same as a fever works inside the human body -a "fever", if you will.

We are NOT the stewards of this planet. We are the infection. We are the tumor. As with any living thing, we (the infection) also want to survive...and, just like any other infection, we adapt in ways that allow us to overcome certain obstacles that the Earth might send to sweep up off -like hurricanes which (not too surprisingly) look like white corpusels when seen from space....like flooding.....like tornadoes...and even one more "defense" -each other! We are currently wiping large portions of humanity off the globe, OURSELVES! There are other organisms, on a much smaller scale, that also invade us....sending internal "hurricanes" to sweep out all the pollution we put into our bodies.

So, the next time you shake the dust out of a rug, remember to look at the dust floating in the air....because that's just how significant we are in the universe.

All out deaths are guaranteed. We all will die. The Earth will one day be consumed by the Sun. The Sun will burn out its fuel one day....I don't know why you get excited about a revelation that we are all going to die. After all, we have been dying forever. We will continue to die. So what if a rogue comet comes by and takes us off a little sooner than later? So what if a big bomb gets dropped right in the middle of Rio or Seattle? It'll only "hurt" for a second....then....?????

I am anything but politically minded but have a thought id like to get feedback on. Concerning the american voter..i dont like the seperation of parties...i think it sperates the masses to much. Sure, there are differences and alot of times huge differences on how voters would like to see the country run but it seems like much of the time its business as usual. I have the thought of a select panel of people from all walks of life making up the countrys voting establishment for lack of a better description.

The american voter (votes) on this panel. The panel includes blue collar, whie collar, a mix of races that make up the country but they have to be of a certain I.Q. They all have to be educated in their field. This panel does the countrys voting. The debates are watched, the panel observes and comes to a conclusion on who runs the country. A panel of say 50 voters make up the panel. This panel takes the countrys best interests to heart. Im concerned with uneducated voting making up to much of the popular vote. The panel also has to have a strong foundation of american history. Without going on and on does anyone relate to my idea?.

Hi guys!

Haven't checked in here since 2006(!), but I keep up my drumming. :P Greetings to anyone who might remember me - and to the rest of you of course.

I'm going to New York City/Manhattan for a few days in April next year, and would like some info on good drum shops to visit, or perhaps even some pawn shops? I can't drag too much on the plane back to Norway, but I'll leave room in my suitcase for some new or second hand cymbals. Anyone got any inside info on this? Any feedback appreciated :)

Have any of you been doing songs forever, could play them in your sleep, yet youve messed up a fill (more than once) and you become overly concerned?. Reallity is is that your brain can suffer from aging just as any other body part but this stuff can play on your confidence level and im a fairly confident player. We were doing Chicagos does anybody know what time it is last night and for the second time! i for some reason extended that little fill in the intro that kicks the tune into gear. Im almost beside myself thinking what in the F*** am i doing!!. Once is acceptable but twice is cause for concern no?. Ive done this a hundred times on auto pilot and all of a sudden im having this problem with a (simple) part. I was really weirded out last night after this happening.

Ride cymbal replacement or 100% dead on accuracy?

In the end i know ill do what i need to do but give me your sence on this issue. My 22'' ride cymbal is angled at me at about a 40 degree angle just above my 10'' tom to the right of my 8. Ya, i know, pretty small mounted toms but it kicks azz. The ride is partially shadowing my 10'' tom which causes me to pay strict attention to it during more intricate fills. Do you move your ride from thee (perfect position) ending the dilemna or put up with the slight inconvenience at times?.

Christian marriage vows purport allegiance until death

Christians believe that life continues after physical death and lasts forever.

So, let's say you marry someone and they die early on. Are you obliged to stay true to them or not? Because if nobody really dies, then the marriage vows are forever -right? But, what if you meet someone else and re-marry? Aren't the Christian vows broken? And what happens if you marry several times and outlive them all? Isn't that going to present a problem for the next life?

I know, Kirk....I know. But I just want to read some kind of explanation that clarifies this point...and that could only come from a Christian. As far as I can tell, it's yet another paradox. But...we'll see.

Anyone here do it?

I am curious what you use?

I can play to a click pretty well, and am thinking about incorporating it into our gigs.

We play 20-40 gigs a year, so not exactly touring pros, but we are not hacks either. :)

I would like to be able to program all the songs - and their tempos in ahead of time, and just hit a button to start the next song.

I already use Shure in-ears so no issues there.

Well, anyone hot any bright ideas?

Hey guys!

SO.... I am at a point in my drumming evolution where I want to change the type of player that I am. I judge myself by saying I have an excellent meter and am great at mimic-ing what other drummers have played - i.e. I am in a cover band. But I also feel like I always play too hard. I don't dent heads or anything, at least not often, but I feel like I am captain single stroke! I play way too heavy, and my hands feel like bricks.

So now I am at the point where I want to push past this, and get to the point where I feel like I am playing more like Jeff Porcaro. I am sure there are better examples out there, but I have been enamored with him for a while now.

Ok. Here is YOUR part! What do YOU think is the easiest way to make that transition? Have any of you done this?

Ebay seller updating descriptions

Got a problem here boys..can an Ebay seller change a description after the auction?. I may be going crazy..old age ya know?. Now i swear when id purchased a Remo powerstroke3 (22'') head it stated JUST THAT. What i got was an 18''pinstripe. Now i KNOW my 22'' bass drum NEEDS a 22'' head right?...i swear the auction stated this. Ive contacted the seller who informed me that what i purchased was an 18 pinstripe and the auction ad has been updated. When i went to (my ebay) to double check i saw no more 22''designation. Has old age set in or can a seller in fact change something already done and over?. Item# is 160317404178. Item has been revised hmmmm?. Seller is kkustums.

Well here is a little recap of what is going on with my kit and muscians friend.back on 12-11,i had ordered a sonor force 3005 5 piece kit all maple in black, ,I had asked the lady when I placed my order 4 times if this kit was black and of course she said it was..well...sent me a red sparkle kit instead...well, when I got home from work that night I got on the phone with a supervisor from musican's friend and THOUGHT I had worked it all out.They sent me out the ups labels to send the first kit back,let me keep all the hardware from the first kit,and let me upgrade to a 6 piece kit fot the same price.Okay I think cool,so after calling about once a week to check the status of my order and explain to all the kids there what was going on(upgraded from a 5 to 6 piece since they screwed up)talked again to a superviser on 1-11.He told me that the warehouse had not released the first kit because the was no notation on the kit for the missing hardware.So all this time the kit is on back order.He tells me that half the kit is there and the other half is still back ordered.I'm like wtf how can you have a half a kit on back order.So I quess betwwen 12-11 and 1-11 they had the order on hold because of the hareware issue.After I got off the phone on 1-11 I recieved a e-mail saying that my order had been placed and it was on back order.What should I do?Should I call there and raise holly hell about this?I feel like everytime I call they are like let's look on the computer today and see what's going on.If i didn't get such a good price on this kit i would problably cancel the order and tell to FO.

Called them today,i asked the accounts manager that I talked to who was in charge of the managers and he very,very reluctantly said a guy named Paul Christianson.If anyone know's this guys ext. let me know...please.i was told(by the accounts manager when I asked for pauls ext) that everybody there is capable of handling anything wiether he is a manager or not.Okay if the kit is on back order that's fine,But they can't even tell when the kit will be ordererd.here's the deal I got.Sonor Force 2007 Stage 3 shell pack

This past Wednesday February 18th 2009, my Dad passed away at age 85. I just felt like posting a thanks to him here to share with my drumming friends.

If it wasn't for my mom and dad, I wouldn't be enjoying my main hobby that I have been doing for almost 40 years now. My mom passed on 14 years ago and it was her idea to buy me a toy snare drum when I was about 5 years old, and I've been in love with drumming ever since. It was my dad, though not "musical" in any sense of the word, who showed me how to hold the sticks in the "traditional" fashion after seeing it in a book. I resisted playing that way because I wanted to do it my way, which was in fact a terrible way to hold the sticks. But, he insisted that I learn it the right way, and I gave in and I'm very grateful for his firm and encouraging words. I was very fortunate to have two parents who were very supportive and encouraging when it came to me playing drums. Now, mostly because of them, I have a "dream gig" that I always wanted. I've had a place to play every week for the past 4 years now and I don't have to drag my kit around since it is permanently set up at my church, and all I have to do is show up and play and worship God with music that is exactly the type of music I enjoy playing the drums to the most. It doesn't get any better for me than that. So, thanks dad and mom for all your help, encouragement, support and wisdom. I love you both and will see you soon.

All great players but they all have something that causes recognition with their attire. Bonzo had his top hat, Anton wears a vest alot, Shawn wears that leather hippie kinda hat, sunglasses and he wears a black puffy sleeved shirt with stars on it that im trying to find EVERYWHERE!. Any of you guys try to stand out by wearing something kinda trade marky?. A 36'' ride cymbal?, your red watch band?. If i was to see you with David Bowie live what would give you away?.

When i saw Cheryl Crow awhile back Peltons hat gave him away instantly, and of course his 4 piece set-up. Im trying to think of a trade mark kind of thing for MYSELF that isnt to bold. Find me a black shirt with stars on it. Thanks.

Well, im on a forum and somehow mistakenly had windows delete being able to respond on any posts. Instead of pressing cancel i must have pressed OK. Will turning the computer off and restarting tomorrow change this or is it a fatal move resulting in action on my part to re-install response capability. Does any of this make sence?, why did this windows thing even pop up for this decision?.
