About 4 out of 10 reeds choke after playing a few tunes. The store I buy from says it's been getting complaints from other sax players. Has anyone else had this problem.
Thanks

Well pretty much in any box of reeds from any brand there are bound to be a few reeds in there that people consider "bad". But remember the fact that reeds are plants and not one grows the same and produces the exact same tone. I am not a professional and I'm still trying to get an ear for a good tone but every reed will vary.( If the reed comes pre-packaged as used then that would be a rip-off haha.) In my experiences I have had quite a few "bad" reeds that are somewhat hard to get a good tone from. What do you expect out of almost 8 years on clarinet . Anyhow, best of luck to you the next time you purchase a box of reeds.
