Hi People,

I'm sure it's been asked before, but I'm here on a need to know basis. I am trying to determine the proper string gauges for my Gibson LP.

Tuning is: B F# B E G# B

On my Epiphone, I just used 12-52's with no regard for tension/tension distribution. But now I would like to be more informed and precise with my new guitar setup. I know that the tension will be lower on my Hi & Low B strings, and am looking to make a measured compensation for each.

I am trying to use the D'Addario formula for calculating string tensions, but I can not figure out how to find the string frequency for my tuning. The D'Addario charts only have frequencies listed for standard tuning. Can you suggest anything for me?

Thanks for your help.

What about baritone guitar strings? The tuning is almost identical to what you listed. They have them in light, medium, etc.
