| | Ive been crazy about watches since i was a kid. whenever i know about an Invicta show on shop/nbc ive got an ice tea/torpedo etc and im in the recliner. Its drums and watches for me. Even if you arent into watches give me an opinion....say youve got a pro diver time piece...would you go for an orange dial, green, purple, yellow or blue. |

| I've been into watches ever since my first Mickey Mouse watch at age 7. I've probably worn every style of watch there is at least once. Currently, my "every day watch" is a modest yet classy Citizen Eco Drive with a plain pale blue face. The fact that it will never need a new battery really appeals to me.
What I don't understand is the current fad that dictates everyone - male and female - must wear a gigantic chunky piece of machinery on their wrist. I don't get that. I also don't get the multimedia convergence that manufacturers are forcing on watches. You see watches with built-in MP3 players now, USB ports, wi-fi, navigation, and **** Tracy only knows what else. How about a watch that just tells me the time? Thanks.
As far as dive watches go, I like a really bright dial: green or yellow would work. Something like a day-glo orange would be nice too.

| | No way, you to?. I dont know where my fascination started or why. I remember seeing a watch with a black dial as a kid and i was hooked. Most people just check their cell phone for time, i wear a watch for a certain occassion or because it looks good with the shirt im wearing out on a saturday night. Generally im a metal band kinda guy but there is that instance where a leather band or even silicone looks great on a particular watch. Invicta is known for oversize time pieces and 90% of the time im indifferent to that look. It gets to the point where im like dude!, why dont you just duct tape a grandfather clock to your wrist and walk down the street with your arm resting in a wheelbarrow. For me its the 40 to 44mm at most that works. I would say that blue dials can stop me in my tracks most often when walking through the mall or dept. store. Certain reds can hypnotize me as well. Guy Fieri? on Diners drive-ins and dives is a total watch geek and im always checking out what hes wearing. Hes spent small fortunes on his gear. Dont laugh but ive seen some armitrons that could blow away some Rolex gear (cosmetically). I do like the automatic watches but if its a wind up or battery im not bothered to much. The automatics are a nice conversation piece should someone ask what it is you have on. I have a very reasonably priced Citizen with a gold plated metal band and purple dial that gets alot of attention. Lately im into the Deep Blue divers and Renato watches. Im not even in the same league as what Guy Fieri wears but ill guarantee you to the average persons eye i would get an equal amount of attention if we were to be shooting pool. A great day for me would be to find a Craviotto at an unheard of price and a drop dead beautiful time piece on clearance! . |
